Steve is Managing Director of Executive Sales Coaching Australia and owner of the Executive Sales Coaching LinkedIn group. He has been described as Australia’s leading Authority on selling at “C” Level.
As a Devil’s Advocate Steve asks the hard questions that get results. He helps his clients to sell more effectively to executives and to create and tell stories that sell. He writes and speaks about Executive Sales and corporate storytelling.
Steve has more than 40 years business, leadership and sales experience in roles that include program manager, project manager, help desk manager, support manager, professional services manager, national marketing manager, sales and marketing director, global sales and marketing manager, global account manager and managing director.
He started his first sales role selling ERP software in 1994 and has sold hundreds of millions in products and services to all sizes of private company, all levels of government and to public companies in the FTSE 100, the Fortune 100, the NASDAQ, and the ASX 100. He has worked and sold in 26 countries on all six inhabited continents.
He blogs on LinkedIn, has been published in many sales and business publications including BRW, the Australian Financial Review and Salesforce’s Quotable blog and has been a guest on many sales podcasts and webinars. He is a regular contributor to Top Sales Magazine, a member of the Sales Experts Channel and a founding member of Sales Masterminds APAC. He is a finalist in the Top Sales World Awards for the best Sales & Marketing podcast of 2018 for this “Selling to the C Suite” podcast. He qualified to become a member of MENSA but discovered they were too geeky even for him.
He lives in Sydney and has been with his lovely wife Susan for 37 years. Having long retired from marathon running, he enjoys ocean swimming, going to the gym, music, reading and following the sadly declining fortunes of his childhood love, Swindon Town FC and the greatly improving fortunes of the England football team.
Wayne is a strong advocate of lean principles across all facets of business and has been applying these to sales throughout his career.
Wayne started his career in engineering but quickly realised his passion was in developing sales, not designing industrial ventilation systems. He has since enjoyed a successful career across Australian, Asian and European markets that embraced all facets of sales and business development across a diverse range of industries including fluids handling, pollution control, education, not-for-profits and ICT. Having experienced sales at the coalface, as a sales manager, marketing manager and Managing Director, Wayne brings a wealth of practical experience to those individuals and businesses he works with.
Believing in the need to build strong local business communities and economies, Wayne is a sales mentor to start-up entrepreneurs at Western Sydney University’s ‘Advanced Technology Accelerator Program’ and is a Director of Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise. He is the author of two sales/sales management books available on Amazon plus a number of eBooks on business development.
Unlike his partner in this venture, and despite 20 years involvement with his children’s local soccer club, Wayne prefers the oval ball of Rugby Union and Rugby League to the round ball. He is however also a retired long-distance runner and swimmer. He also has a passion for vinyl music and hosts a vinyl review Facebook page.
